Foreword#
Welcome to my blog ! 2023-2024 ULB class “How To Make (almost) Any Experiments Using Digital Fabrication”
Hello everybody, hope you’re doing good. My name is Alishba, and I am 20 years old. I was born in Belgium on the 26 September 2003. I live in Beersel/Huizingen and there’s a beautiful park near my house.
In my free time I like to listen to music, play volleyball and spending time with my family. I also love travelling and discovering new places. I really want to go to Australia or New Zealand.
My studies#
I am a bioengineer student at the ULB. This is my last year of my bachelor’s degree.
When I arrived at ULB, I was initially a computer science student. I studied for one month and a half, and I quickly realized that these studies were not meant for me. So, I decided to pursue studies in bioengineering. Bioengineering is a very multidisciplinary field, so that’s why I decided to do it. About my master’s, I am thinking about going to Ku Leuven, or maybe I’ll stay at ULB, I don’t know yet. I’m too indecisive.
Previous projects#
When I was in Secondary 6, we had to do a project on the environment about climate change. The project name was Prometeruse. We had the opportunity to work with a school in Germany. And we were able to interact with a local researcher. It was a good first experience.
Another project that I really liked was that we had to do a dubbing in English in front of all the teachers as well as the 6th grade students. We had to do the dubbing of a small scene imposed by the teacher. It was a scene from Finding Nemo 🐟🦈. Everyone knows this Disney film, right ?
The goal of this dubbing was to invent something different from the original version, and it allowed us to develop our creative mind. Here’s a little sneak peek of our project.
Why this course ?#
I chose this course to get out of my comfort zone, to learn something new, something different that we’re not used to do. I can’t wait to start using a 3D printer. 😊
